Privacy

Your Privacy

C.A. Short is committed to protecting the privacy of any personal information provided on this web site.
This Privacy Statement applies to the C.A. Short Web site. By using C.A. Short, you consent to the data practices described in this statement. If you have questions about this Privacy Statement or the protection of your personal information on the C.A. Short Web site, please write us at rflynn@cashort.com.

Collection of Your Personal Information

C.A. Short explicitly asks when it needs information that personally identifies you during the submission of an inquiry, subscription to the C.A. Short list, or the creation of a C.A. Short account on the C.A. Short Web Site. This information can include your e-mail address, name, address, telephone number, and credit card number, as applicable. C.A. Short also may ask for non-personal information or demographic information.

Use of Your Personal Information

C.A. Short and our service providers use your personal information to operate the C.A. Short sites and to provide the services you have requested. The information is also used to communicate with you regarding your C.A. Short accounts by sending out communications that are considered as essential to the operation of the service. We ask for your postal address so that we validate information by mail.

C.A. Short uses your personal information to distribute two types of information: 1) C.A. Short Service Updates - account specific communications, and 2) C.A. Short News - promotional and customer feedback information.

C.A. Short Service Updates - Account Specific Communications
Account specific communications are distributed to the account administrator and include information that is essential for the C.A. Short service to operate properly. This includes the initial welcome mail describing features and instructions for the service. It also includes any communications describing any changes or updates to a particular service or billing issues. Because account specific communications are essential to providing the most current information on C.A. Short services, these types of communications initiate when a customer signs-up for a C.A. Short account and continues for all C.A. Short customers with active accounts.

C.A. Short News- Promotional and Customer Feedback
Promotional and customer feedback may include promotional offers, sweepstakes, contests, and/or customer surveys.

C.A. Short may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on C.A. Short or its service providers; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of C.A. Short or its service providers, the site or the users of C.A. Short; or, (c) to protect the personal safety of users of C.A. Short.

Except as otherwise described in this statement, C.A. Short will not share any personal, company, or contact information with other companies without your prior consent.

Changes to Your Personal Information

C.A. Short Service Updates - Account Specific Communications
You may update the personal information you have shared as the account administrator with C.A. Short, at any time when you log in to your C.A. Short account by clicking the "My Account" link.

C.A. Short News- Promotional and Customer Feedback Information
You may opt-in or opt-out to receive these communications or edit your profile from the C.A. Short Web Site. Each mailing also provides an unsubscribe link to opt-out and a profile edit link to change your personal information.

If you have difficulty modifying any of your information, please send an e-mail to rflynn@cashort.com to receive further assistance.

Security of Your Personal Information

C.A. Short secures the personally identifiable information you provide in a controlled, secure environment, protected from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. When sensitive personal information (such as a credit card number and other financial information) is transmitted over the Internet, it is protected through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol.

Security of the company and contact information that you provide as part of the C.A. Short service is controlled in a secure environment, protected from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. C.A. Short will not use your customer contact list or any other customer information for any other purposes than those intended with the service, nor will your customer information be shared with any other parties. C.A. Short will not use your customer information for the purpose of sending unsolicited commercial e-mail.

C.A. Short collects statistics on your specific company's customer's behavior in regards to their use of the C.A. Short service on your behalf and reports those statistics to you within the reporting features of your C.A. Short account.

Use of Cookies

A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a Web page server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you. For additional information on cookies, please see http://www.epic.org/privacy/internet/cookies.

One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time. The purpose of a cookie is to tell the Web server that you have returned to a specific page. This simplifies the process of recording your personal information, such as billing addresses, shipping addresses, and so on. When you return to the same C.A. Short Web page, the information you previously provided can be retrieved, so you can easily use the features that you customized.

You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. If you choose to decline cookies, you will not be able to fully experience the interactive features of the C.A. Short Web site or utilize the C.A. Short web-based service.

Use of Log Files

We use IP addresses to analyze trends, administer the site, track user's movement, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information.

Use of Web Beacons

C.A. Short pages may contain electronic images known as Web beacons, sometimes called single-pixel gifs that allow C.A. Short to count users who have visited those pages. C.A. Short may include web beacons in e-mail messages in order to count how many messages have been opened and acted upon. Web beacons are not used to access personally identifiable information through C.A. Short services; they are a technique we use to compile aggregated statistics about the C.A. Short Web site and email usage distributed from the C.A. Short system.
Web beacons collect only a limited set of information including a cookie number, time and date of a page view, and a description of the page on which the Web beacon resides.

Changes to This Statement

C.A. Short will occasionally update this Privacy Statement to reflect company and customer feedback. When C.A. Short posts changes to this Statement, we will also revise the "last updated" date at the top of the Privacy Statement. If there are material changes to this Statement, C.A. Short will notify you by placing prominent notice on the Web site. C.A. Short encourages you to periodically review this Statement to be informed of how C.A. Short is protecting your information.

Use of Privacy Statements by C.A. Short Customers and Affiliates

While C.A. Short strongly encourages other web site operators using C.A. Short services to comply with these principles, you should carefully examine the privacy statements of sites linking to or from C.A. Short. Personal information that you choose to provide to other web sites will be subject to the privacy policies of that specific web site.
